A Quick Guide to Streamate Shows and Chat

Models only get 35% of everything members give. If a show is $1.99 a minute, she is only getting $0.69 a minute. If a member tips $10 gold, the model gets $3.50.

Three Types of Users:

-Free (light gray bar above that area)- don't even have a credit card on file. Models can choose to not even have this area available, though such users can still watch the model while she's in public chat if she has it disabled.

-Guest (dark gray bar above that area)- have a credit card on file with the site, but are not currently in pay-by-minute chat. I recommend you keep this minimized when you're in a show. It will automatically expand when the show ends, giving you a second warning that you're back in public aside from the sounds.

-Paid (red bar above that area)- currently paying by the minute. Unless there's a user in this area, you are in public chat. If there is a user in this area, you are not in public chat, Guest and Free users cannot see or hear you. I recommend that you keep this minimized when you're in free chat. It will automatically expand if a paid show starts, giving you a second warning apart from the sound.

Model turns free chat on or off by clicking on the settings tab in the streaming window. This tab can only be accessed when the model is not streaming.

Minimize or expand the chat by clicking on the triangle on the far right of the relevant bar above the relevant chat.

Two types of Chat, one option:

Classic Chat- guest and paid users cannot see that there is anyone else watching, let alone what others are saying. You can only accept tips, private, and exclusive shows when this chat is active.

Party Chat- members can see what is said by other members. Members may choose to hide their messages from other members in their user options.

Model switches between classic chat and party chat via a drop-down menu on the live show tab of the streaming window. The default setting can be changed in the settings tab on the streaming window. The settings tab cannot be accessed while streaming, and the drop down cannot be changed while streaming.

PM- models can pm the members by clicking on the member's name in the user list and then typing in the normal chat like normal. If the member leaves before the model is done typing, it will bump the typing into the main room, so don't hit enter until you're sure the member is still there to receive it!

Three types of shows, two options for two of the types:

Private shows: one member starts this show, model gets no warning and no option to decline. Other members can join the show, no members will be kicked out of the guest area but many will leave. Other members will be paying the normal price, regardless of what price the initial member pays (which is normal unless block session, see later). Model may set the price when not streaming.

Exclusive shows: model has the option to disable this type of show. One member starts the show. Model has a 10 second warning, with the option to click accept or decline. If she misses the 10 seconds, it automatically accepts. A sound is made when the show is requested, so learn your sounds! If accepted, guest chat is emptied of users and minimized. Members can only take a model exclusive if they've spent a certain amount on taking models private.

Models choose the prices for Private and Exclusive shows in the model admin page when not streaming. The prices she sets are the prices the member pays, not the amount she gets for the show.

Gold Shows: Only available during party chat. Model sets the countdown for it. She needs to specify:
-action
-total countdown (remember, for a $100 countdown, you will get $35 if it's reached)
-minimum for each member to see it
-time to reach countdown

This is specified when she starts the countdown, though she can save a set for later if she's in the middle of typing and a member asks to take her private/exclusive. Members cannot initiate private or exclusive when a gold show countdown is running.

If the countdown is reached before time, model gets a 180 seconds to accept or reject the show. If the model rejects the show, the members don't pay anything.

If the countdown is not reached by 180 seconds before the coundown is to end, the model gets the choice to start the show anyway, or cancel it to try again. If she decides to try again, the members will not be charged for the first attempt, and will need to buy in again.

If the model ends the show partway through the show for whatever reason, she will not earn the money for the show. If she was kicked out due to technical difficulties, she will earn a percentage based on how much of the show was viewed.

When a show is over, a 30-second countdown is initiated. If the model has access to it, this is a good time to press the pause button for a 10-minute break to be initiated. If the model does not have access to the pause button, she should email support to get it. Log into your model account and go to "Contact Support" so they know who you are.

In the middle of a show, there is no pause button, and no end show button on the model's end. The only way she can end it is to log out of the broadcast (not the site) by clicking the "stop my show" button. If she is using the HD encoder, she will need to stop the encoder streaming session, and click "disconnect" to end it completely, because when she goes to sign back on, she will have a completely new set of links to input in that area.

Phone: A model can choose to offer phone in exclusive only, in exclusive and private chat, or not at all. This option is chosen below the "stop my show button" and can only be set after the streaming session starts. It must be redone every time.

Block Sessions: block sessions allow a member to purchase a large block of time at a discounted rate. They are charged for the whole block of time at the beginning of the session. The model faces serious consequences if she ends the block early, but the member can end it at any time. If the member is kicked out but gets back in within a few minutes, it renews the block session where it left off (I had someone kicked out of a 15 minute block, when he came back the request said for a 7-minute block).

There are four options, 15-minutes at 95%, 30 minutes at 90%, 45 minutes at 85%, 60 minutes at 80%. The member chooses private or exclusive. If the member stays longer than the time requested, he is charged the discounted rate for the rest of the minutes, but any other members watching in private are charged the normal rate. Models decide to offer or not offer each length block on her profile page before she streams.

  1. D'oh! I forgot about TV and Fan Clubs. x.x

I don't do fan clubs, so I don't know about them. Anyone who does know, feel free to comment!

TV- if you have gold shows enabled, a producer will invite you to start a TV show. They will base the goal on how much you usually get towards your gold shows before the show starts (so, if you usually make $70 towards the show, but $40 of that is after the show starts, they'll base is on $30)

I know the money is guaranteed, so you will make your goal, and can make more than your goal. I do not know if the producer pays your goal no matter what, or just meets it if there's not enough from the members. I haven't done gold shows much, so I didn't opt in to TV. You opt in to TV or not from your model admin page.

  2. Hi, I am new to camming on Streamate. When you are in private and another member joins in what does the clicking sounds mean. First there is a ring sound and then a couple clicking sounds? Thanks!

  3. I honestly have not noticed a clicking sound, but then, I have noises associated to new paid chat users turned off. Sorry I can't be of more help to you about that. One of these days, I might turn it on to see what you're talking about, but I'll have to be in a good mental place to handle the annoyance of the constant in and out of random people.

At this point, my recommendation is to try turning the sound associated with a new user off (there's a little bell in the corner of your feed, click on that and you'll see a bunch of check-boxes for which sounds you want to hear. Uncheck "multiple paid users.") Then, you'll just hear a chime at the start, and a door close at the end. Helpful if you're in doggie and you need to know if you should turn around or keep going. If the clicking noises continue, then you know it's not that.

  4. How would I tell a customer to start an exclusive block with me? I couldn't the other day and I was so embarrassed! He just decided not to do it.

    1. I have not actually seen the customer side. From what I've been told by other customers is that, if you have exclusive enabled and they are able to take you there, they click the same button which would take you private, and a choice will pop up. I know from support that members cannot take a model exclusive until they've spent a certain amount on premium chat. So a brand new member won't be able to take you exclusive, and a member who's only spent on gold tips and gold shows will not be able to take you exclusive.

  5. HI!
I came across this page, and wow!
This is exactly what ive needed, a sort of support for models.
Ive been camming on streamate for a month, and have most of everything down......
i do have one question.......HOW DO I GET A GOLD SHOW OPTION?

    Id appeciate some help,

    Thanks

    1. Step 1. Make sure you qualify. There's a page in the FAQ through your model log-in where you can verify what the current qualifications are.

Step 2. If you do qualify and you don't have it yet, send service an email while logged in, through the "contact us" page. Remember that the message you send will be read by a human, so keep the message short and polite.

From their FAQ, I was sent to the performer manual, which told me this:

      (Start Quote)

To qualify for Gold Shows and TV Broadcasts, you must meet the following requirements:

Stream in HD. See Streaming Quality for more information.
      Stream with your audio enabled.
Average rating of 4.5 stars or higher. See Ratings for more information.
Be online consistently. Increasing your average time online and in paid chat will help you qualify.
Qualification is calculated automatically. Your account will be updated within a few days of meeting these requirements. Keep streaming often and putting on great shows until the option shows up!

      (End quote)

When they say to be streaming in HD, what they mean is you should be using the encoder. There's an FAQ about setting that up. Also, you have to be running gold shows for a while before you can enable the TV option, but you have to actively enable it when it's available, if you're wanting to do that. There will be a message when you qualify for gold shows, and another when you can enable TV.

      Good luck!

  6. Hi Eve, is so nice to meet someone who can help cam models! I just start streaming on Streamate just from a week, I''m really new very new in this field-my first time and I would like to teach me how to speak nice and on their language to take you faster to paid room? I really don't know what I have to do, to speak, to tell them to don't stay a lot on stories on Guest room and to go fast to paid or premium/exclusive room?
    can you help please?

    1. Hey there!

Unfortunately, there's no one-size-fits-all solution to this question. The first most important thing is making sure you're bringing in the kind of guys who actually want to see what you have to offer. So fill in your profile with key words that they can search. In the "About me" portion, put some interests you have outside camming, to show that you're a real person and not a sex-doll :P In the other two, list off the various types of shows you offer. Put the ones you prefer to do under turn-ons, and the ones you've done a lot of under expertise. Make sure your header is something catchy and descriptive.

As for in the room, many people say to be active in public chat. Personally, I get more people taking me private when I do bare minimum of answering their questions about what I'll do in private, focusing my attention instead on something on the side. But most girls have more luck with being active and engaging. What do they do? Some of them just chat about random stuff, hobbies or events in their lives. Some of them tease a little. Some of them simply keep talking about what they offer, and pushing for people to buy. Whatever works best for your personality is best to do.

      Have fun, and good luck!

  7. Hi Eve!
I just started streamate yesterday. There were a lot of people just log in and log off in my chat room quickly and without saying anything. They don't even stay in my room for more than 3 seconds. It didn't happen to me on other site, people either come in to talk or stay to stare at me. I wonder whether I was doing anything wrong there.
    Thanks! :)

    1. Hello!

Quick log-ons and log-offs are fairly standard. Even once you've been there awhile. There are so many reasons they happen. The main thing to remember is that regardless of how many guys decide not to stay, there are still gentlemen who want to watch you. Ignore the 2-second fly-by's, and focus on the guys who stick around.

      Happy camming!

    1. Hello Pinkey!

Step 1- you first have to make sure you are actually streaming. When you first log in, there's the start show button on your dashboard. While this takes you to the page to start your show, you aren't actually streaming unless you've clicked the "start" button on the chatroom page. If you're using the encoder, you'll get a popup window with two things to copy-paste into the encoder. Then you have to click start on the encoder to actually start.

So, no encoder, you will "start" your show twice, once on the dashboard, and again on the chatroom page.

Yes encoder, you will "start" your show three times, once on the dashboard, again on the chatroom page, and a third time on the encoder.

If you have clicked all the starts that you need to, you won't actually be live yet, so no one can join your room.

Step 2- have patience. It may take awhile for people to join your room. The longer you stay on without logging off, the higher your placement will be, which makes it more likely for guys to find you.

  9. Eve, I'm trying to find out if I've been banned by a performer. I don't think I said or did anything offensive and I always tip and am respectful. So, my question is this...how would I know? Can I still send email? Can I see her profile? I can't seem to find any credible info and the performer and I had (or at least I thought) that we had struck up a friendship, even just going to pvt to catch and see how each of us were doing Irl. Honestly, I'm just worried, and just want to know. Thanks if you can help.

    1. I have looked through the performer's and member's FAQ, and was unable to find the answer to your question. I assume you're talking about Streamate and Streamate Affiiliates?

  10. Yes ma'am. Thanks for looking. If you are able to find out, please let me know. She's in a rough situation, so I just hope to find out if she's ok. Thanks again.

  11. Is stream mate only for females exclusively no male performers?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hey there!

Streamate allows anyone and everyone (over the legal age) to cam on their website. I've heard that things can be a bit different for male models, so you might want to find a male mentor if that's what you're going for.

      Good luck!

  12. Eve,
I have a friend who currently works for a group but wants to strike out on her own and go indedpendent and continue working on Streamate, but under a new account. Do you know how long she will have to wait to do this? Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. This is going to depend on her contract with the group. Streamate itself doesn't have any issues with this. She may be able to message Streamate support to get her account ported, and not lose any of the progress she's gained, but again, that will depend on the contract with the group.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Hello!

On the member side, 1 gold = 1 unit of whatever currency. On the performer side, 1 gold = 35% of whatever the currency is worth in USD.

    1. Hello!

So, the longer you are online, the higher your placement gets for that session. Also, the more often you're on during the same timeblock, the higher your placement will be during that timeblock. So camming at the same time every day will get you higher, and camming for four hours, you'll be higher during the fourth hour than you were during your first or second hour. Hope this helps!

For the in free chat bit, what you do depends on your personality. Chatting with members and answering their questions is usually helpful.

  16. Hi I entered streamate recently and was chatting with a model and after a while a pop up window appeared saying I am currently performing live then there are two options 1. join the show 2. Browse live models. When I click 1. Join the show I get pop-up asking for $2.99 to join the show as private but streamate asks funds $25 as pre-paid balance. What is this? Is it the model wanting me to join private?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It's not the model inviting you, it's the site. When another member selects the premium chat option, it doesn't give the model any warning, it just takes her to premium chat, and then invites all other members to join in. The $2.99 is likely her per-minute premium chat amount, but you are charged by the second, not the minute, so about 5 cents per second to see her. Streamate wants to make sure that neither you nor the model will be surprised by you joining chat, and then just while you're enjoying yourself, you get disconnected for lack of funds, hence the $25 balance. It's also to protect you, so that you don't accidentally go over your budget. Somewhere in your settings is a place to change the limit, but you'd have to ask streamate's support team where, since I don't know the member side. You would only be charged based on how many seconds you actually watched her.
